PI Day! 3.14

So this week, I have made my best pies ever.  Paul's birthday was on Monday and he informed me that he didn't really like cake but wouldn't mind a birthday pie so I made him one.  Then I made another for Cody on 3-14.  It was so good we ate the whole thing...mmm

snuggies...

So I am the best sister ever...Paul's birthday was on Tuesday and I got him the coolest present ever...a SNUGGIE!  Have you seen the commercials?  Well Paul loves them so I thought I would fufill all of his dreams and get him one--and Christine one too!  Check out her blog for http://cxclax.blogspot.com/ for an even better look at the joy life can be with snuggies!

Dodgeball Champs

My husband is sooooo talented.... and an impeccable dresser :)

Last night his team was in the finals for dogeball: med school 1 vs dentists 1

In the last game, Cody was left- a lone soul in the chaos of flying rubber balls; 1 vs three. He caught one ball while dodging several others allowing one of his teammates to enter back in to the fight and together they exterminated the competition. Victorious they stand as U of U Dodgeball Champions!

Introducing Mykita Belle Martin...

Mykita was born at 2:37 pm on January 28th. She weighed 5 lb 12 oz and was 19 inches long. She has an incredible personality already and is a total priss. Cody and I are completely infatuated with her. She is a crazy wiggler and loves being naked. --"being dressed is depressed" quote from Cody during our first conversation-- Yesterday as I was trying to feed her Mykita was holding her tiny hands, crossed in front of her face, wiggling her little fingers (just like in Napoleon Dynamite). She is totally a member of the “Happy Hands Club!”

Operation...

So Cody has been conducting surgery in our home lately and from what I hear he needs a lot more practice :)
Thanks for the game Devo!

Sinus Backup...Gross

Ok...so I know this picture is disgusting but once again I am a biologist and stuff like this totally fascinates me. I am nasty sick right now. I have a sinus infection plus this weekend for some reason I had all the other sicky symptoms no one wants: cough, fever, sore throat, diarrhea, nausea and the occasional puking. Plus, my baby is growing out of control...that's another story though. So Cody has this thing called a netti pot which is supposedly to clear out your sinuses: you pour some salt water solution up one nostril and the nasty mucus stuff comes out the other side...this didn't really work for me--nothing was coming out and then I made a little cough and all this stuff came out. It totally freaked me out...but good news I am a- o- k!

Chubby Bunnies...

So I was talking to by sis-in-law, abby, the other day and since we are both passionate gamers we were discussing which ones we played that weekend. She said she played Chubby Bunnies. That made me laugh because I thought it was just plain hilarious to think of her and my brother, devn and my mom sitting around stuffing marshmallows in their mouths. When I asked how many her daughter Ellee (2) could fit in Abby was really confused...so it turns out that they were really playing killer bunnies (a supposedly awesome game) and not chubby bunnies...heehee silly me! So not giving up on my daydream of seeing a two year old with marshmallows hanging out of her mouth, I took advantage of the time I had baby-sitting my other niece Amari. The game didn't last long (she could only fit in one big-marshmallow and then couldn't say a thing)...but she sure is cute!

Happy New Years!!

Yay! It is 2009. Crazy! I have some pretty big goals already set for me and IAM SURE THAT THIS YEAR WILL BE THE BEST ever.
#1 GOAL: To have a healthy baby
#2 GOAL: To finish my masters
#3 GOAL: to be a better and more supportive wife (after the first two goals are accomplished! :))So Cody and I spent New Years in Prineville, Oregon with his family at their cabin. It was pretty awesome as we played games by the fire. If we look a little rough in these pictures it is because...well we were roughing it! Of course it was only Cody, Me and Ashley (pictured above) that stayed up for the actual New Years Celebration. We have been addicted to quiddler this Christmas season...
Cody and Jake such cute brohas...

Cody and I looking super sexy :~...right...
NEW YEARS KISSING.....
Cody is sighting in his new M4 scope...
Prego Camie blasting off shells with a 40
Cody and I super armed and dangerous....

ready to take down an army by ourselves...
Contrary to popular belief, Cody isn't aiming at my head it is actually behind me...
Cody/Rambo... stay tuned for some video footage!

Christmas EVE!!!

I love family traditions and my favorite by far is Christmas Eve! The festivities start with a fondue dinner. My mom makes her delicious home maid white bread cut into squares and we dip it in this amazing cheese sauce. We also dip broccoli and then have steak. Then after all the family helps with the dishes we can finally open our Christmas Eve PJs. My mom out did herself this year by giving everyone matching pajamas (pictured above). With the help of Abby and her cricket, they made matching farkle shirts for everyone with screen printing ink and freezer paper and then the girls and boys all matched. She even made little pants for the little ones. It was so cute! I really get a thrill out of simple things like everyone matching! After everyone got on their pjs and finished dancing around we re-enacted the nativity. I am so happy that we have little ones to act now. It is so much fun having the little guys around. It will still be a few years before we get all the lines down but sometimes that takes away from the cuteness factor. I thought it was very clever of me to be prego mary and abby and will to be mary and baby.... if meghan wasn't occupied we were going to have her and luke be mary for the shepherds and then abby and will for the wisemen so we could see the baby grow.... Anyway the nativity was a little crazy because santa was coming and the omaha frandsen's had to make a visit to the other family so Paul rushed us along, but I hope everyone can enjoy it and feel the spiri tof the whole thing anyway. We are so blessed to have had the Savior born on this earth and I am so thankful for that amazing gift he gave us!

Christmas for Jeffrey....

So I wanted to send a little Christmas Elder Jeffy's way... I knew that he doesn't have a lot of room so I tried to make a little portable nativity. It's not as small as the one Valerie sent Paul (it fit into a matchbox) but with my clumsy fingers I thought fitting into a ringbox was pretty good. I also baked him a pie. No one appreciates my apple pie quite like Jeff!

fork

So the other day I was chilling with my sister-inlaw and eating a cup of noodles after the bio100 class we teach together and the craziest thing happened...I got the fork I was eating with wedged up into my upper palette. It was stuck there for a good 5 minutes before I got the courage to shove the fork back into my throat and release it. --Crazy things!

chrissy lou lax!

Saturday we got to watch Paul's wife and my new rad sissy-in-law play some lacrosse. It made me miss the sport a lot. One thing is for sure though and that is Christine is a ton better then I ever was!
in for the goal...

halloween!!!!!! wahahahahhhhhh!!

Happy Halloween!!!!!

drake and amari were particularly stoked to be with me...or else just couldn't wait to get trick-or treating...
Zander standing in a scary yard...
Irelynd was a scary witch lady
Paul and Chrissy were a cowboy and a native american
Amari was a ducky (really a penguin but she wouldn't let us call her that)
Drake was a monsterous zombie
This isn't on Halloween but when we were there last weekend for Jeffy's farewell Will was being a monster (he is actually almost always delightful) but I thought I would include this cute picture in my Halloween photos.
Zander was a fearsome spider but I smashed him FLAT!
...cute sisters with matching shirts (oh we were dressed up as twins....)
This is Cody and I at the ward trunk-or-treat. Cody was busy studying on Friday night but Thursday he agreed to dress up with me. We just got called as activity chair people and so I am trying to fulfill my calling the best that I can.
